DEA Agents seize 11 pounds of meth, $5,000 cash and make 2 arrests
OKLAHOMA CITY -
According to news reports OKC DEA agents seized 11 poinds of meth, $5,000 and made 2 arrests. Carlos Castro, 23, of Oklahoma City and Jose Mendoza-Angulo, 26, of Las Vegas, Nevada, were arrested for allegedly operating a drug trafficking organization.According to court documents, agents conducted surveillance on Mendoza-Angulo's Oklahoma City residence located at 6809 South Shartel Avenue on May 1. During the surveillance, agents saw Castro in a tan Ford Taurus stop at the residence for a short time. Later, during a traffic stop by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper, a canine sniffed out approximately one pound of ICE/Methamphetamine in the car. Castro was taken into custody.Court papers show agents then went to Castro's apartment at 2426 N.W. 39th Street in Oklahoma City where they saw a man walk up to Castro's 2002 blue Chevy Avalanche. DEA agents approached the man, identified as Mendoza-Angulo. Agents say he had $5,000 cash on him wrapped in a rubber band and what appeared to be a drug ledger.During a search of Mendoza-Angulo's residence on Shartel Avenue, agents found 10 pounds of ICE/Methamphetamine, a large amount of packaging materials containing meth residue and digital scales.
Tulsa police officer charged with robbing Hispanic drivers

A Tulsa police officer who is accused of stealing money from Hispanic drivers was charged Friday with five counts of second-degree robbery.Marvin Blades Jr., 37, was charged Friday in Tulsa County District Court with victimizing five different people from last August until last Friday night.Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan announced last Saturday that Blades was arrested as part of an undercover operation that involved an Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control officer.The chief said Blades is suspected of pulling over Hispanics and removing money from their wallets.Jordan said there is no indication that any other officers took part in such behavior. In fact, he said, other officers played a vital role in providing information in the investigation.
